Forgetting and over sighting

Translated by Dr. Faheem Bukhatwa

In the name of Allah most Gracious most Merciful.

Thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Peace and prayers be upon the most honorable of all messengers Mohammad; and all his folks, companions, and followers to the day they are all summoned together.

I advice you and my self to fear Allah. This who does not fear Allah will not be able to distinguish between different paths. Allah says: {if you fear Allah then He will provide you with the power of distinction} Aya 29Anfal.

Allah did not create you in vain; take provisions from this life that will protect you in the next life. Indeed, people make arrangements for funerals, they say prayers for the deceased, and walk behind the funeral procession, they may encounter some sorrow, and some shade of gloom may pass over them, but soon people are overcome with the buzz of life and the neglect due to living.

Dear brothers and sisters, those forgetful people, the time they live will be taken as evidence against them. Their days lead them to misery. For how is the next life can be achieved with no good deed? And how repentance is can be expected with the forgetfulness, carelessness and negligence and putting off hope far into the future. The people of negligence if they are given, they are never satisfied, and if they are not given they are not contented, they preach what they do not practice, and they preach deterring others and nothing deters them. They are always given out to others, and for themselves, they always find excuses and justifications.

Yea who are unaware of this matter, Many of those who put their trust into this worldly life were afflicted by it, and many cheaters were cheated by it, and many vain people were made despicable by it. And many proud people lost their pride because of this worldly life.

The sweetness in this life is really bitter, its powerful is beatable, life in it is short, it’s being is going towards nothingness. Happiness in it is going towards sadness, the abundance in it is going towards lack, and health is moving towards sickness, richness is going towards poorness; life in it is cunning, its days are luring, To its followers it preaches badness.

Situations in this life are either blesses that are disappearing, afflictions that are coming down, deaths that are going to take place. Investing and building in this life is doomed to destruction, and collections are doomed to dispersion. And all that is above dust is going to dust.

The people of negligence do not achieve their hopes, and are not good in taking the right provision for what they are going for. They collect much but they will not make use of it, they build what they will not occupy, and hope for what they will not obtain. Allah says: {Let them feed and amuse, and let them be fooled by the hope, they will find out} Aya 3 – Al-7ejr

Those who keep wishing for a long time, building and destroying, do and undo, guess and miss judge, they think and plan, eventually matter turn out different to plans, wrongfully their collection grows, and keep saying “I will, I will” about repentance, but there is death has approached him, work is cut off for him, their people commit them to earth, and they are denied all excuses. Allah says {Do you see that I give them their pleasure for years, then comes upon them what I have promised them. What they were give to enjoy} Ayas 205-2207 of Shu3aras

The messenger advised us regularly remember the destroyer of pleasures. For indeed this who thinks about death will put himself, his actions and hopes to account. It is those with stagnant souls and unaware hearts that needs constant and elaborate reminding. Any one remembers and think of the destroyer of pleasures, if they are in tight living it will be made plentiful, and if they are in plentiful living, then it will be made tighter.

The messenger (PPBU) once walking by a grave stopped and cried till his tears wetted earth and he said: “Brothers, it is for the likes of this get ready”

A man asked the messenger (PPBU) saying: “Who is the best of all people?” He replied : {The one who remembers death more, and the one who is more ready for it. Those are the good ones who are gone with the dignity of this worldly life, and the honor of the life after.}

Dear brothers, death is ruining pleasures for those who seek pleasures in this life. Seek the pleasure that has no death to ruin. People in paradise are safe from death and they will enjoy their pleasures for ever.

Remember that those who always think of and remember death Allah will honor them with three things: speedy repentance, heart contentment and activeness in worship. And those who forget and ignore death, Allah will afflict them with three things: continues postponement of repentance, and lack of contentment with what is enough, and sluggishness or laziness towards acts of worship. Each and every one of us will die. All those before us have regardless of how long they lived. Allah says: {Did you think we created you in vain, and you shall not come back to us?} Aya 115 of Mosminoon.

Allah says: {Every soul is getting the taste of death, for you shall be compensated in the day of resurrection. This of you who is dislodged off the fire and brought into paradise is the victorious. And this worldly pleasure is just an illusive and alluring enjoyment}

Dear Muslims, fear Allah, and keep up Allah’s commandments, be trustees for what he entrusted you with for you shall answer to him the day you stand between his hands. Rewarded for what you did and what you regretfully did not do.

Repent to Allah before you die, engage into good deed before, you are stricken by a disabling lack of resource, or an over whelming richness, or a devastating sickness, or weakening old age, or terminating death, or the false messiah, or the hour, and the hour is tougher and more cunning.

May Allah bless you, do not be hoping for the good of the life after with no work in this life, and do not postpone repentance for a lengthy hope and you know that death approaches suddenly. Visit the graves or cemeteries; it reminds you of the next life. Take a lesson of those who are under the dust and his friends and family have forgotten about them. They suddenly died while they had hopes for the future, collected money, for their hopes were dashed, and their money is useless to them, their wives were widowed, their riches divided.

Fear Allah, may He bless you, and hope for the next life. For it is a life where there is no death, homes in it are not destroyed, youth never ages, its blesses never fade, where goodness and beauty in it does not change, those who live in it live in the mercy of the most merciful.
